Terms and risks
Effective 9 October 2026 (updated for the supported assets and the support contact). These terms govern your use of subnetbridge.com, the Subnet Bridge app and the wrapped tokens it issues (listed on the Contracts page). By using the service you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.
The service and what a wrapped token is
Subnet Bridge is a custodial bridge between Bittensor and Ethereum. You deposit a supported asset on Bittensor and receive a wrapped token on Ethereum; you burn the wrapped token to receive the same asset back on Bittensor. A wrapped token is a claim on the bridge’s reserves, redeemable through the app. It is not native TAO or alpha, not a bank deposit, not insured and not guaranteed by any other person or protocol. Subnet tokens are claims on subnet alpha the bridge holds as stake delegated to a third-party validator; they are redeemed as alpha stake, not TAO, and carry subnet risks: alpha price, validator changes and subnet deregistration.
Who controls the bridge
One operator runs the bridge. One custody key per asset controls the reserves, and the attester keys that approve mints run on one host under the same operator; the signature threshold does not provide independent custody. The operator can pause minting and redemption, change daily limits, refuse or delay a transfer under review, and upgrade the contracts through a timelock. During this early-access period the timelock delay is set to zero, so contract changes can take effect without advance notice. Compromise or loss of the operator’s keys, or operator error, can delay redemption or cause loss of reserves.
Fees
The bridge fee is 0.5% of each wrap, deducted from the tokens minted, and 0 to unwrap. You pay the network fees for your own Bittensor deposit and Ethereum transactions. The bridge pays the Bittensor network fee for payouts. The app shows the exact amounts before you sign.
No yield to holders
The bridge keeps all staking yield earned on the reserves it holds. Wrapped-token holders receive no staking emissions, interest, bridge fees or reserve surplus, and holding a wrapped token means giving up the staking yield the underlying asset would otherwise earn.
Limits, timing and finality
Each asset has a daily limit for wrapping and unwrapping, and a minimum deposit; the app shows the current values. Transfers wait for finality on both chains, typically about 20–25 minutes in total. That is an estimate, not a deadline: backing checks, limits, network conditions, pauses and review can delay a transfer. Do not repeat a deposit or burn because it is delayed.
Your responsibilities
You must be at least 18 and legally able to use the service where you are. You may not use it if you are, or act for, a person subject to sanctions administered by the United Nations, the United States, the European Union or the United Kingdom, or from a jurisdiction where its use is prohibited, and you may not use it for money laundering, fraud, sanctions evasion or any other unlawful purpose. The operator may refuse, hold or reverse service access where required by law or to protect the bridge. You are responsible for your wallets and keys, for checking the network, amount, destination and contract before signing, for using the deposit details shown for your signed-in wallet, and for any taxes on your transactions. Blockchain transactions generally cannot be reversed.
Risks
Smart-contract defects, key compromise, RPC or network failures, chain reorganizations, validator or subnet events, operator error and regulatory action can cause delays or permanent loss. The contracts and relay have been reviewed internally; no independent external audit has been completed. Wrapped-token prices on secondary markets may differ from the underlying asset; liquidity, listings and third-party integrations are not guaranteed, and third-party applications carry their own risks.
No advice; no warranty
Nothing on this site is investment, legal or tax advice, or an offer or solicitation of any financial product. The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted availability or accuracy of displayed data. Reserve reports and status indicators are point-in-time observations, not guarantees.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the operator is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, lost profits or lost data, and its total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid to the bridge for the transfer concerned. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Voting and public data
Signed votes are revocable preferences, not deposits, commitments or promises to launch an asset. Wallet addresses and active votes are public. Anonymous interest is counted separately; salted IP hashes used for rate limits are deleted after 48 hours.
Changes
The operator may change these terms, the supported assets, fees and limits. Changes apply from the effective date shown at the top of this page; continued use after a change means you accept it. Changes to fees apply only to transfers started after the change.
